25 students from five European countries are spending the winter semester at the faculties of the University of “Goce Delchev” – Štip, as part of the Erasmus+ student exchange program.

Traditionally, the International Cooperation Department at UGD organizes an informational session for them, where they have the opportunity to get to know each other and meet students from Macedonia who study at UGD. Through a presentation led by students, the students were introduced to the opportunities offered by Štip for student life, as well as everything that can be visited and seen during their stay.

– “I am from Portugal, studying at the Polytechnic Institute in Castelo, Portugal. I am a Computer Science student in Portugal, and I will be studying the same this semester here. I didn’t choose something specific, but I chose Macedonia because it’s a country I hadn’t heard much about, and I just wanted to learn more about life here. I’ve been well received at the University and I have everything I need. Sometimes I have a little problem with communication, as English and Macedonian are very different, but so far everything has been good,” said student Tomán Ereira from Portugal.

Other European students also have high expectations for their stay at UGD, partly due to the experiences shared by their colleagues who had already been in Štip.

This continues the tradition of the Erasmus+ program at UGD, and this year, the students come from the following European universities:

  • University of Granada – Spain
  • Università degli Studi di Sassari – Italy
  • University of Valencia – Spain
  • Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo – Portugal
  • Universidad de A Coruña – Spain
  • Gaziantep Universitesi – Turkey
  • Universitat Jaume I – Spain
  • Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal – Turkey
  • University of Cologne – Germany
  • Technical University of Cartagena – Spain
  • Polytechnic Institute of Bragança – Portugal
  • University of Pisa – Italy
