Name and Surname: Martin Aleksov
Faculty and Study Program: Faculty of Law, Program in Legal Studies
Current Profession: Owner and manager of two companies, one focused on the production of personal protective equipment, specifically IIR, FFP2, and FFP3 type masks, and the other in the field of organic natural beverages based on ginger. Additionally, as a Master’s graduate in Industrial Law, I work as an expert in this field, helping companies in Europe with strategies for protecting trademarks and industrial designs.
Life Motto: Everything happens for a reason. Believe in yourself and your instincts. Surround yourself with people who push you upward and rid yourself of negative energy. Keep your head up and keep fighting. Be aware that both good and bad times pass, and everything in life is an experience. More smiles, less talking, and never giving up on your set goals. Don’t forget that life is the process of achieving your goals, not the goal itself.
My recipe for success consists of: Love, work, work, and work.
The biggest challenges on my path to success were: The biggest challenge was myself. I believe that once you get to know yourself and start mastering both your positive and negative sides, all other injustices, deceit, unfair competition, discrimination, and wrong people become normal and expected obstacles in work and life. From today’s perspective, I am glad I faced these challenges when I was very young. Every challenge is a new lesson that will make you stronger and more successful. The sooner, the better.
My connection with UGD: 4 years.
I chose this faculty and program because: I enrolled at the Faculty of Law because I knew what I wanted to study, and it was a step towards my goal that I am working on.
Key advantages of studying at UGD: I studied in Štip, the most beautiful city in Macedonia. I studied at a university that was new, full of desire for progress and growth, with the goal of one day becoming the best university in our country. I learned from the best professors in the country and even better assistants who later became my professors and today are some of my best friends.
Practical training at UGD: In my early years, I attended a law office, and later I was a part-time student and didn’t have to attend practical training, but those years were when I began working on myself and my goals.
From my studies at UGD, the most helpful for my career development: Professor Borka Tuševska showed me the way. Professor Kristina Miševa helped me make the decision. Once again, I thank them.
Wisdom shared by a professor during lectures that left the biggest impression on me in life: I will never forget the exam in Commercial Law with Professor Borka Tuševska and the conversation after the exam. That day, at the age of twenty, I finally knew where I was going in my career.
Book, video, podcast, or event I would recommend to others: I would recommend several that had a strong influence on my life and career – “As a Man Thinketh” by James Allen, “Meditations” by Marcus Aurelius, “Man’s Search for Meaning” by Viktor E. Frankl, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen Covey, “The 5 AM Club” by Robin Sharma, and of course, “The Little Prince” by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, for all the princes and princesses reading this.
Advice for young future students: It’s never enough. You can always do better. Be even more dedicated, ask more questions, socialize more with professors and colleagues, and study for a 12, so when you get a 10, you won’t regret it.
