First European Digital Innovation Hub Opened

On January 31, 2025, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Skopje hosted the grand opening of INOFEIT EDIH, the first European Digital Innovation Hub in North Macedonia – Center for Digital Transformation and Innovation.

This hub is a center for innovation, digitalization and entrepreneurship, which will provide small and medium-sized enterprises, startups and research institutions with access to advanced technologies and knowledge. It will offer support for the digital transformation of companies and public administration.

As part of the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) network, the hub provides access to the latest technologies and resources, strengthens the innovation ecosystem and international cooperation in the field of digital transformation.

“Goce Delchev” University – Shtip is one of the key partners within the consortium consisting of INNOFEIT (Coordinator) – Center for Technology Transfer and Innovation, UKIM, UKLO, Solveo, the Union of Chambers of Commerce of North Macedonia (SSK), the Macedonian Association of Processors (MAP), Interspace, Mikrosam and Kontron.

A panel discussion on the topic “The Role of European Digital Innovation Hubs in the Digital Transformation of Society” was also held within the framework of the event, which was attended by:

  • Prof. Dr. Vesna Janevska – Minister of Education and Science,
  • Mr. Stefan Andonovski – Minister of Digital Transformation,
  • Prof. Dr. Vladimir Atanasovski – Dean of FEIT at UKIM,
  • Prof. Dr. Sasho Koceski – Dean of the Faculty of Informatics at “Goce Delchev” University – Shtip,
  • Prof. Dr. Orce Simov – Union of Chambers of Commerce, Mr. Slobodan Jovanovski, Kontron.
