The Faculty of Law at the University of Goce Delčev (UGD) today held a simulation of a procedure before the European Court of Human Rights. The event was carried out by students who had previously participated in international competitions on the same topic.

“With this event, we want to emphasize two main things. One is to applaud the students for their activity and participation in international competitions, where they demonstrate their knowledge. We believe that investing in young people, their expertise, and knowledge is the greatest investment in justice, democracy, and respect for human rights. The second point we want to highlight with this simulation before the International Court of Human Rights is to mark the International Human Rights Day and to highlight part of our international cooperation,” stated Prof. Dr. Olga Koševaliska, Dean of the Faculty of Law.

The event marked International Human Rights Day and is part of the activities of the Center for International Law and International Relations at the Faculty of Law, University “Goce Delčev,” which is a member of the Open Council of Europe Academic Networks (OCEAN) under the Council of Europe.

“The Faculty of Law at UGD is a member of the OCEAN network of the Council of Europe. In this event, our students from the Faculty of Law are also participating. With this event, we not only want to emphasize the importance of human rights, justice, and fairness, but we also want students to face the legal challenges related to human rights protection through such practical experiences during their studies. They will be able to apply this directly in the future,” said Ms. Elena Trajkoska, Master of Laws at the Faculty of Law, UGD.

The Faculty of Law has been preparing for such competition simulations for many years.
