Cooperation

UGD has built partnerships with institutions around the world, cooperation contracts with universities from various countries and continents, and international educational programmes and training projects, which aim to provide the students with maximum opportunities to gain international experience in their studies.

Furthermore, since its establishment, UGD has been cooperating with the business sector and the industry through which it transfers practical experiences from the daily work to to the students. Moreover, each faculty has its own partners in the field it specialises and the full list of cooperators includes approximately 70 institutions and companies.

International cooperation

These partnerships enable the students and the employees to participate in various programmes, projects and trainings that are conducted by foreign universities and in this way they gain valuable knowledge and experience by following other examples and to later apply it into their own education and career.

UGD is a university with the highest number of inter-institutional agreements (over 400) in North Macedonia; during one academic year the University conducts an exchange of more than 50 foreign students and 100 employees as visiting staff.

Erasmus cooperation

Erasmus plus

UGD has sucessfully realized the programme Erasmus + for many years. Erasmus plus is a project of the European union for higher education that enables the cooperation and the exchange of students and staff between the partner-universities in Europe. The programme is applicable for all regular students at UGD who have finished at least 2 semesters of their studies, have a satisfactory grades and have a knowledge of the English language. The student exchange can be ralized in one of the partner-universities whose complete list can be found here, and the exchange can be realized for a period of 6 or 12 months. In order to better promote this programme to the students, UGD continuously organizes informative days and meetings with representatives from the National Agency.Futhermore, all the needed information can be found at the following link: cmus.ugd.edu.mk.

Cooperation with organizations and companies

Since its origin, UGD has tightly cooperated with other related institutions, the private sector and the industry as part of the quintuple Helix system, where the main pillar is the knowledge.

The private sector as the other members of the system are incorporated in continuity both during the work with the students as well as during the life-long learning of the personnel.

Large number of the representatives from the private sector are present on the lectures as visiting lectures on the so called clinic lessons, in mutual projects, mutual researches, conferences, forums, organized study visits in their facilities (such as factories, laboratories, public institutions etc.), representations at employment fairs where part of them also offer training opportunities for the students.

International organizations and associations

Applied, Connected, Entrepreneurial and Engaged – European University (ACE2-EU)

Goce Delcev University is part of the Applied, Connected, Entrepreneurial and Engaged – European University (ACE2-EU) Alliance, which gathers nine universities across Europe with more than 20 supporting partners. The purpose of the is to establish a European higher education inter-university campus which has the potential to transform the capacity and quality of institutional cooperation between ACE2-EU member institutions and bring it to the next level, fostering deeper integration, enhancing collaboration, and increasing our overall impact and influence within the European higher education landscape.

European Universities Association

Goce Delcev University is part of the European Universities Association, which gathers more than 850 universities and national rectors’ conferences from 49 European countries. Within the network, Goce Delcev University supports the Bologna process and contributes to the advancement and development of higher education, science, and innovation.

Observatory Magna Charta Universitatum

Goce Delcev University is a signatory to the Magna Charta Universitatum and is a member of the Observatory Magna Charta Universitatum. This Association assembles more than 960 universities that origin from 94 countries. The scope of the Assocaition is to ensure integrity, respect and appliance of the basic principles and values enshrined in the Magna Charta Universitatum.

Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS)

Goce Delcev University is a mеmber of Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS), in which more than 110 univiersities take part from Central and Western Europe, the Balkan Pensinsula, the Middle East and almost all countries from Asia. The purpose of the Eurasian Universities Union is to create an international educational platform of regional universities with the aim to generate cooperation and networking among univiersities and to promote and advance the academic standards of education.

UNIADRION – Association of Universities of the Adriatic-Ionian Region

In May 2023, Goce Delcev University became a member of the International Assocition of Universities from the Adriatic Ionian Region known as UNIADRION. The Association UNIADRION gathers universities from the countries of the Adriatic – Ionian basin that is: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Montenegro, North Macedonia, San Marino, Serbia and Slovenia. Its main goal is to promote cooperation among universities and reserach centers and to nurture the progress of culture, science, trainings and reserach in these countries. UNIADRION also promotes the process of European integration and Enlargment of the European Union with the aim to improve security standards and respect for the rule of law, to promote equal opportunities for men and women and to spread the culture of peace.

Rector’s Forum of Southeast Europe and Western Balkans

Goce Delcev University joined the Association of the Rector’s Forum of Southeast Europe and Western Balkans. The Rector’s Forum is and Assocaition established in 2018, and gathers more than 35 universities from the region. This Association is dedicated to enhance cooperation among universities in the part of higher education, science and research, mobility, and above all, it is dedicated to support the Berlin process and the process of European Integration of the countries from the region in the field of higher education.

European Law Faculties Association (ELFA)

Goce Delcev University on behalf of the Faculty of Law is a member of the European Law Faculties Association (ELFA). The European Association of Law Faculties gathers more than 150 law faculties from Europe and the world. The Association represents and international forum where different subject matters related to legal education are being discussed, and whereby one of the main goals is to promote standards of legal education through cooperation with government agencies and other educational institutions in Europe and on international level.

Regional Youth Cooperation Office - RYCO

Goce Delcev University on behalf of the Faculty of Law, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Regional Youth Cooperation Office, which represents an indipendant institutional mechanism founded by the the Balkan countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia, with the aim to promote conciliation and cooperation among youth in the region in particular through student exchange programs.

Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNCHR) in North Macedonia

In 2021, Goce Delcev University on behalf of the Faculty of Law, has signed and Memorandum of understanding with the Office of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNCHR) in North Macedonia. The purpose of the Memorandum is to establish cooperation among the parties based on the spirit and on the premises of 1951 United Nations Convention relating to the Status of Refugees and subsequent resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly, and on the Law on International and Temporary Protection of North Macedonia, with the scope to promote human rights, including refugee rights, among the academics and students, as well as to enable academic exchange, promotion of values of multiculturalism and inclusive society.
